Choosing a Grace Kelly-Inspired Bridal Look

Grace Kelly-inspired bridal looks are an elegant, timeless choice that will look sophisticated no matter the era. However, make sure your style is tailored specifically to fit your individual vision for the big day and not just what suits you visually.

Princess Grace of Monaco, married Prince Rainier in a stunning outfit designed by Academy Award-winning costume designer Helen Rose. At the time, it was Rose’s most expensive design yet and took 30 seamstresses six weeks to assemble.

The Princess’ gown was crafted from silk faille and pleated for a flattering shape. The cummerbund at her waist also featured silk faille detailing to tie together the ensemble. Finally, an exquisite 90 yard veil of fine netting fell just below her bust line, allowing her to see through the fabric easily.

The princess’ veil was trimmed with thousands of tiny pearls for an elegant and classic touch. It matched her headpiece, made of pearl-adorned lace and paper orange blossoms.

Grace completed her look with a delicate two-piece suit made of pale pink taffeta and lace. The jacket featured an elevated collar with an intricate thin lace bow, three quarter length sleeves finished off by discreet buttons down the front, and an equally subtle flare to her calf-length skirt topped off by a Juliet cap and wrist-length evening gloves.

Grace kept her hairstyle simple with an up-do. To finish off the look, she added a soft neutral lip color and delicate pink blush for softness and freshness.

For a classic Hollywood vibe on your special day, try styling your hair in an elegant style and adding soft neutral lipsticks. This timeless style works great for both natural or boho brides and will have photos looking like classic Hollywood movies!

For a modern wedding style, opt for a sheath or strapless dress that flatters various body types. This style works especially well on hourglass, pear and apple shaped figures as it draws attention to your curves without drawing too much attention to the waistline.

For a modern take on the sheath dress, try an empire-waisted gown that will draw attention upwards and give your curves more definition. This versatile option can be worn during your ceremony or taken off to wear at the reception.

Your wedding day is one of the most significant events of your life, so it’s essential that you select a look that makes you feel confident all night long! That is why it’s essential to consider the aesthetic of your venue, time of year and dress code before selecting an ideal gown for this momentous event. Doing this will help narrow down your options and make selecting the ideal dress easier on your big day!
